A Hierarchical Membership Protocol for Synchronous Distributed Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
A membership service for a synchronous distributed computer system is described. The system is assumed to be composed of groups in which a relatively frequent message exchange occurs. A hierarchy of connected groups constitutes a connected network. The membership service protocol reeects this hierarchical structure. The protocol tolerates timing, omission and crash failures. Time-bounds are speciied in which additions (removals) of processors to (from) the system are known to all participating processors.

A New Group Membership Protocol in Synchronous Distributed Systems
In distributed systems, a group of computer should continue to do cooperation in order to finish some jobs. In such a system, a group membership protocol is especially practical and important elements to provide processes in a group with a consistent common knowledge about the membership of the group. Whenever a membership change occurs, processes should agree on which of them should do to acco...
متن کاملA Real-Time Total Order Multicast Protocol
We describe, analyze and submit results of a real-time total order multicast protocol developed on a distributed real-time system architecture that consists of hierarchical rings with synchronous packet delivering characteristics. The protocol is structured on and closely interacts with the distributed clock synchronization and the real-time group management modules. The synchronous characteris...

The growth of the Internet raises new challenges for the design of distributed systems and applications. In the context of group communication protocols, gossip-based schemes have attracted interest as they are scalable, easy to deploy, and resilient to network and process failures. However, traditional gossip-based protocols have two major drawbacks: 1) They rely on each peer having knowledge ...

A synchronous communication protocol is designed and implemented for a dis tributed real time system The protocol operates on hierarchical rings and forms the communication backbone of a cluster based distributed system model that is designed to provide various distributed system functions such as clock synchronization total event ordering process group management multicasting and fault toleran...
متن کاملAn Intelligent Anti-Islanding Scheme for Synchronous-Based Distributed Generation Using Reduced-Noise Morphological Gradient
This paper presents a pattern recognition-based scheme for detection of islanding conditions in synchronous- based distributed generation (DG) systems. The main idea behind the proposed scheme is the use of spatial features of system parameters such as the frequency, magnitude of positive sequence voltage, etc. In this study, the system parameters sampled at the point of common coupling (PCC) w...
